Assignments
Asn 0 - Introductory Bio
Asn 1 - Internet Assignment
Asns 2 - Word Processing Assignment (2 assignments: Asn#3, styles and stylesheets, is for extra credit)
Asns 3 and 4 - Spreadsheet Assignments
The two spreadsheet assignments are exercises using Microsoft Excel which is part of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Asn 3 - SS1 - Loan Calculator
Asn 4 - SS2 - Budget, Investment
Asn 5 - PowerPoint Assignment - Short Version, instructions for both Asn 5 and Final Proj (same as below)
Asns 6, 7 and 8 - Database Assignments
The database assignments are all based around a program in the Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Access. Microsoft's Access database program is only available on Windows but was chosen because it is almost ubiquitous in offices. It is the most common database program you will find in the workplace
Those of you on Macintosh computers will not have it available. There are more than enough points available in other exercises to get you to an A so this is not crucial but if you still want to get some time on a database, to get a feel for how databases work, there are a lot of Windows machines available in computer labs on campus with Microsoft Access loaded on them. Just open up the Microsoft Office suite and pick "Access" from the pull down menu, or, depending on Windows version, click on the Window Icon in the lower right and pick "Access" from the menu, or click on the "A" for Access icon on the task bar.
Asn 6 - Database Assignment 1
Asn 7 - Database Assignment 2
Asn 8 - Database Assignment 3
Asn 9 - Integraton Assignment - Combines more than one lesson in Word Processing, Spreadsheet
Asn 10 - PC Wish List, Buying a PC
Final - Power Point assignment and Final Project

Online Helpers
Below is a set of starting links to various YouTube tutorials on the software programs used above. This is just a starting set. You will see large numbers of such videos of various usefulness.
Remember, the most useful tutorial is your own, very personal, experience on the keyboard, simply trying out every nook and cranny and keystroke you can find. Too much reading or too much viewing before actually typing away on the keyboard will impede your progress. The best way to learn is to jump in. You won't blow up your compter.
The actual physical experience of working in the programs and exploring the programs will make more sense faster. The experience helps you make sense of the "instructions" because that physical experience gives you a working context in your head. That in turn will help your keyboarding experiences. Move back and forth between reading/viewing and working to retain the most information.
